Joni's Garden : Joni has long loved the garden and gardening. Flowers and Foliage are her great passion in the garden.

"Gardening is both an addiction and therapy all in one", she has been known to say often to friends. The hard work and sweat that it takes to have a beautiful garden is well rewarded with beauty and satisfaction.

I (John) have grown to love these green friends also. However, I also love photographing them - and prefer that to the hard work - dirty part of gardening. That is not to say that my hands are not often dirty and my back sore!

It won't take long for you to notice that the gardens are not perfect. As much as we would love to have "perfect" gardens, lack of time and nature itself contribute to the more natural look of Joni's Garden. We admire a well manicured yard yet are not driven to making ours precise. After all, it is more about the beauty that God has made than what we have done with it.

Joni and I both hope you enjoy Joni's Garden with us.

Sky : The sky changes all the time - Every day from first-light to sunset. Clouds have a life of their own and when sunlight plays through them it can be breathtaking. There is never much time to setup for cloud shots as they often change rapidly.

The Ring - Advanced Photon Source (APS) ~ Argonne National Laboratory : Argonne National Laboratory is one of the U.S. Department of Energy's largest research centers. It is also the nation's first national laboratory, chartered in 1946.

Researchers from around the world use Argonne's Advanced Photon Source (APS) to see their experiments through new eyes. Source of the nation's most brilliant X-ray beams for materials science research, the APS is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Basic Energy Sciences. It has opened new doors for scientists in many different fields.

With a circumference of 1,104-meters, the APS is large enough to hold a baseball park in its center. It houses a complex of machines and devices that produce, accelerate and store a beam of electrons. The beam passes through magnetic devices called "wigglers" and "undulators" that vibrate the electrons' path, causing them to emit X-rays.

JC : JC - John Carpenter is an artist/craftsman whose primary business is jewelry design and fabrication. JC's favorite pastime is photography - mostly focused on nature. There is much beauty in this world and that is what JC most often chooses to photograph. Occasionally subjects that he just finds interesting make their way into his work. All that is hurtful and ugly he leaves to journalists.
